Welcome
The Palaiochora Runners Club is delighted to announce the 10th Palaiochora Half Marathon, to be held on Sunday, 18 October 2026. Alongside the half marathon, the event will also feature 5 km and 10 km road races and a children's race.
Runners of every age and fitness level are welcome to take part in this sporting event, the aim of which is to promote the spirit of sport and to showcase the natural beauty of the region.
We look forward to seeing you all there, turning out in force to send one simple message: everyone can do it.
Races and Courses
The event comprises three running races plus a children’s race, starting and finishing in Palaiochora. The courses are run along the Palaiochora–Kountoura road axis.
Half Marathon — 21.1 km, 100 m elevation gain
10 km — 30 m elevation gain
5 km — 20 m elevation gain
Children’s Race
A short, non-competitive race for younger participants.

18:00–21:00: Race packet collection at Menoutos Sport store.
Sunday, 18 October 2026
07:00: Race office opens in Palaiochora for athletes who were unable to collect their race packet the previous day.
08:00: Half marathon start
08:30: 10 km start
09:30: 5 km start
10:00: Children's race start
10:30: Awards ceremony

Categories, Awards and Prizes
Cups and medals will be awarded in the following categories.
Half Marathon (21.1 km)
- Overall classification: top three men and top three women
- Men: up to 45 years, 46 years and over
- Women: up to 45 years, 46 years and over
Short Courses (5 km and 10 km)
- Overall classification: top three men and top three women
- Youth: men and women up to 18 years
All participants will receive a commemorative medal and gifts. The awards ceremony for the winners will take place at the finish area on race day, Sunday, 18 October 2026, at 10:30.
Race Regulations
General
Athletes are required to comply fully with the regulations set out below. They are also required to follow the instructions of the club organising the race. Failure to comply with the regulations or with instructions given will result in disqualification.
Race officials who observe a breach of the regulations will record it and inform the athlete concerned. Any other person authorised by the organisers may likewise record any breach they observe and submit it to the Race Committee for review.
Disclaimer of Liability
The Palaiochora Runners Club “Palaiochora Trail Running Team” (hereinafter the “Club”) accepts no liability for the death, injury or any impairment of health of competitors, who, by submitting an entry form, declare that they are aware of the risks present in the race environment and confirm that their state of health is good and permits them to compete, having recently been examined by a doctor for this purpose. No athlete will, however, be asked to produce a medical certificate.
Athletes are themselves responsible for undergoing regular preventive medical examinations in order to monitor their state of health. The Club reserves the right to withdraw an athlete and to prevent them from finishing the race if, during the race, an authorised doctor issues an opinion to that effect.
The Club further disclaims all liability regarding the physical safety of athletes, who must behave responsibly in sections of the course where the risk of a fall with serious or fatal consequences is elevated. The Club disclaims all financial liability in the event that external assistance is provided to any athlete.
Participant Declaration
I am taking part in this race entirely at my own risk, having undergone the necessary medical examinations confirming that I am in good health and fit for competitive athletic activity. I waive any and all claims for compensation against the organiser in respect of any harm arising from any cause during the race, and I consent to the free use of my name and of photographic material relating to the race by the press and on social media.
